The New Composers Master Class celebrates the next generation of composers and lyricists who are shaping the future of musical theatre. Participants will perform for Drew Gasparini (SMASH, The Next Big Thing, Crazy Just Like Me) and receive individual feedback. Students should prepare two contrasting 16-32 bar songs from Drew’s catalogue or another new musical, review, or song cycle, and bring sheet music with them that is clearly marked for the accompanist. Students should also bring three copies of their headshot and resume.

One Day Master Classes are open to students ages 10-21, and class size is typically limited to 18 participants to ensure that each student receives personal attention from our special guest instructors. Enrollment will be closed two weeks prior to the Master Class date, or when the class becomes full – whichever comes first. Instructors for each class are typically announced 3-4 weeks prior to the class.
