(Actress) Broadway credits include The Hills of California (Penny/Biddy), Come From Away (Hannah & Others, original cast), and Les Misérables (Swing), and Mary Poppins (Miss Andrew, Queen Victoria, & Miss Smythe). She was the first African American to perform a leading role in the history of Mary Poppins. Her National/International Tour credits include Mary Poppins, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, and A Night with Janis Joplin. She played Mabel Washington off-Broadway and recorded the soundtrack for Fame: The Musical. Other noted credits include Abyssinia: A Gospel Celebration with Wynton Marsalis at the Lincoln Center, Showboat in Concert at Carnegie Hall, being a guest soloist for Hillary Clinton’s Vital Voices awards at the Kennedy Center, and being a guest soloist at Barack Obama’s inaugural ceremonies. She has shared the stage with Gladys Knight, Rita Coolidge, Gary U. S Bonds, Ledesi, and Loretta Devine, among others.
