Alexander Gemignani
(Actor) most recently served as the Music Director for the Broadway revival of West Side Story. As an actor, he also recently appeared on Broadway as Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and as Enoch Snow in the revival of Carousel, for which he was nominated for a Tony® Award. He also recently appeared in the Chicago production of Hamilton as King George III. Other Broadway credits include: Violet (Father), Chicago (Billy Flynn), The People in the Picture (Moishe Rosenwald), Sunday in the Park with George (The Boatman), Sweeney Todd (Beadle), Assassins (John Hinkley), and Les Miserables (Jean Valjean). National Tour credits: Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd). Off-Broadway credits: Sondheim’s Road Show, Avenue Q. Alex is the artistic director of the The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center National Music Theater Conference (NMTC), and he holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and is the son of noted Broadway musical director Paul Gemignani.
