ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
(Casting Director/Director/Pace University Faculty/BAA’s Director of Creative Development) is the founder of Bob Cline Casting in New York City. He has cast film, TV, commercials, over 70 Broadway National Tours, as well as hundreds of regional theatre productions across the country. Bob’s casting credits include the National Tours of Fame, Beauty and the Beast, Elf, Bye, Bye Birdie, Hairspray, The Music Man, The Wedding Singer, Oklahoma, Rent, Annie, and many more. He is also the Casting Director for Maine State Music Theatre, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, The Pioneer Theatre Company, and the Fulton Theatre. As a director, Bob has had the pleasure of directing Betty Buckley, Tom Cavanaugh, Tuc Watkins, Christy Carlson Romano, Martha Plimpton, and Elaine Stritch in Ben Andron’s White’s Lies, both at the Jerry Orbach Theatre and at New World Stages in NYC. He is also the Artistic Director of the Montclair Operetta Company. Other directing credits include Pippin, Into The Woods, Company, The Full Monty, To Kill A Mockingbird, A New Brain (Perry Awards for Best Director and Production), Falsettos, Violet (Perry Award nomination for Best Director and Production), Songs for a New World (Perry Award nomination best director), Little Shop of Horrors, Is There Life After High School?, andGodspell. Bob is on faculty at Pace University leading the Senior Musical Theater Majors and auditioning the incoming Freshman Class as well as teaching master classes across the country.

Your BAA application fee will be waived if you are interested in only attending One Day Master Classes. You will see the waiver option at the end of the Online Application (which you will still need to complete!)

Online One Day Master Classes are open to ages 10-25.
Class size is typically limited to 12 participants to ensure that each student receives personal attention from our special guest instructors. Enrollment will be closed when the class reaches capacity.

The basics about BAA online classes:

What you’ll need to have:

  • An internet connection.
  • A computer or connecting device with a camera.
  • A secondary device in which to play your accompaniment track (for vocal sessions).
  • A quiet space to connect from.
  • A headset for when you are listening to other people perform or the instructor speak! (You can remove them when it is your turn to perform!)

How will it work?

  • We will meet using ZOOM.
    This is a free service you may already have. Please, download the latest version to guarantee a smooth connection and use of all the latest features. When creating your user name, please make sure it features the student’s NAME and/or LAST NAME so you can be easily and properly identified by the instructor.
  • Logging into your ZOOM class room. 
    You’ll receive a Zoom class room link before the start of the first session of your selected series. This will be the same link you’ll use every week to connect.
  • Only participants registered in the Master Class will be allowed in. So, reserve your spot in a timely manner!
  • Your instructor will be accompanied by a BAA Staff member during each Master Class. The BAA staff member will supervise, address and help with any technical questions, and guarantee each performer gets equal work time with the instructor. During vocal classes, we will lead a warm up right before so everyone is ready to sing!
