Tony Nominee Alex Brightman is here to connect directly into your living room and work with you on acting the song, character development and making an impression in the audition room!

Work remotely one-on-one with Tony Nominated, Alex in how to command attention by being true to yourself and to character when it’s timed to sing! ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Alex is better known for starring as Broadway’s Beetlejuice for which he has received a Tony® award nomination! He was recently seen on Broadway as Dewey in School of Rock (Tony® Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical). Additional Broadway credits include: Matilda the Musical (Michael Wormwood), Wicked (Boq), Big Fish, Glory Days. Film/TV credits include: The Forrest Boys, Change of Plans, Royal Pains, Red Hook, Important Things with Demetri Martin, The Face. Currently he is working with Drew Gasparini on musical adaptations of both the film It’s Kind of a Funny Story and the award-winning children’s book The Whipping Boy.

Your BAA application fee will be waived if you are interested in only attending One Day Master Classes. You will see the waiver option at the end of the Online Application (which you will still need to complete!)

Online One Day Master Classes are open to ages 10-25.
Class size is typically limited to 12 participants to ensure that each student receives personal attention from our special guest instructors. Enrollment will be closed when the class reaches capacity.

The basics about BAA online classes:

What you’ll need to have:

  • An internet connection.
  • A computer or connecting device with a camera.
  • A secondary device in which to play your accompaniment track (for vocal sessions).
  • A quiet space to connect from.
  • A headset for when you are listening to other people perform or the instructor speak! (You can remove them when it is your turn to perform!)

How will it work?

  • We will meet using ZOOM.
    This is a free service you may already have. Please, download the latest version to guarantee a smooth connection and use of all the latest features. When creating your user name, please make sure it features the student’s NAME and/or LAST NAME so you can be easily and properly identified by the instructor.
  • Logging into your ZOOM class room. 
    You’ll receive a Zoom class room link before the start of the first session of your selected series. This will be the same link you’ll use every week to connect.
  • Only participants registered in the Master Class will be allowed in. So, reserve your spot in a timely manner!
  • Your instructor will be accompanied by a BAA Staff member during each Master Class. The BAA staff member will supervise, address and help with any technical questions, and guarantee each performer gets equal work time with the instructor. During vocal classes, we will lead a warm up right before so everyone is ready to sing!
