He is the Broadway star of Newsies, Matilda, King Kong and the National Tours of Wicked, West Side Story and Jesus Christ Super star, AND, he is a Broadway Artists Alliance Alumnus and Dance Director. It’s Clay Thomson, and he’s ready to get you dancing and to share with you real Broadway combinations to up your game to the level it needs to be in to ace your next Broadway audition!
Participants in this class will learn dance combinations directly from Clay, as well as audition technique and tips on how to claim your spot and light during a Broadway dance audition, regardless of your dance level. All dance levels welcome!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
A proud Broadway Artists Alliance alumnus, Clay just wrapped his role in the National Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. Clay made his Broadway debut in Newsies as Spot Conlon. After that, he was cast in the original Broadway cast of Matilda. He left Matilda to perform in New York City Center Encores’ productions of Little Me and The Most Happy Fella. After his Encores’ productions, Clay briefly returned to Newsies to cover his aforementioned role of Spot Conlon and then moved back to Matilda to play Michael Wormwood. He also was in the cast of Broadway’s King Kong.
He has toured the U.S, Canada, and Japan with the Broadway First National Tour of West Side Story as A-rab and was in the National Tour of Wicked. Clay has also made numerous TV appearances, performing on shows such as Dancing with the Stars, The 2013 Tony® Awards, The 2012 and 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Late Show with David Letterman, The View, Good Morning America, Good Afternoon America, and more.
Your BAA application fee will be waived if you are interested in only attending One Day Master Classes. You will see the waiver option at the end of the Online Application (which you will still need to complete!)
Online One Day Master Classes are open to ages 10-25.
Class size is typically limited to 12 participants to ensure that each student receives personal attention from our special guest instructors. Enrollment will be closed when the class reaches capacity.
