Hellooooooooo, poppets! We are ecstatic to welcome Rob McClure to the BAA family with this Master Class, exclusive for 10 performers only! Work with the Tony Nominated star of Broadway’s Chaplin, Beetlejuice and the upcoming Mrs. Doubtfire! (Oh, boy we can’t wait to see him back onstage when Broadway is back!)
You’ll get to work with Rob on acting through the song, interpretation and character, and making those audition pieces truly shine via your own personal approach and talent.
This class is open to intermediate and advanced musical theatre performers. Attending performers will work one-on-one with Rob. No audition is necessary to register. Participants need to bring a 16-32 bar cut of an audition song (about 1 minute) either Musical Theatre or Pop. Participants will need to have an accompaniment track, ready to play! MEET YOUR BROADWAY INSTRUCTOR:
Rob McClure:
Rob McClure was most recently seen on Broadway as Adam Maitland in Beetlejuice: The Musical. Next, he’ll take the stage as none other than Daniel Hillard (aka: Mrs. Doubtfire) in Mrs. Doubtfire! Rob received a Tony Nomination for his performance as Charlie Chaplin in Chaplin. Additional Broadway credits include Something Rotten, Noises Off, Honeymoon in Vegas, Avenue Q and I’m Not Rappaport.
Rob knows all about being young and working towards being onstage. He’s a recipient of the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award for his performance as Charley in his High School’s production of Where’s Charley? He directed musicals at New Milford High School from 2003 to 2006 (including a show that he wrote, The Bagel Factory).
He is also the mastermind behind #ConductorCam, an online series he created in 2020, depicting scenes that you may or may have not seen in a orchestra pit, and teach you a lot about life in musical theatre from every angle. Follow him on Twitter as @RobMcClure and on insta as @McclureRob
