It’s an Anastasia themed master class this January, in the hands of Derek Klena, star of the show on Broadway as Dimitri!

Work one-on-one with Derek in Song Interpretation and in learning new ways to approach storytelling. After working on your songs, you’ll get to polish your scene work, using scenes from Anastasia to work on your straight acting. Participants will perform audition cuts and receive direct feedback and suggestions from the instructor. The scenes will be available during the straight acting portion Master Class

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Derek is currently starring on Broadway in Jagged Little Pill, based on the same title album by Alanis Morrisette. Additional Broadway credits include Dmitry in Anastasia (Original Broadway Cast), The Bridges of Madison County (Original Broadway Cast) and Wicked (Fiyero). His Off-Broadway credits include Dogfight (Second Stage, Clive Barnes Award nomination) and Carrie (MCC). Regional performances include Anastasia (Hartford Stage), Diner (Signature Theatre, Delaware Theatre Company), Unknown Soldier (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Hairspray (Hollywood Bowl). He has also been part of TV’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Quantico, Blue Bloods, Law and Order: SVU and Carrie Diaries. 

One Day Master Classes are open to students ages 10-25, and class size is typically limited to 18 participants to ensure that each student receives personal attention from our special guest instructors. Enrollment will be closed two weeks prior to the Master Class date, or when the class becomes full – whichever comes first.
